TPS (Technical Print Service) InkJet 2600DN, page size A3
On our workstations, PA-RISC/HP-UX 11.00, we use for applications like dtpad or dtmail TPS for printing.
Printer HP InkJet 2600DN has tray1 for A4 and tray2 for A3 this printer has a duplex unit too.
"SAM->Printers and Plotters->HP JetDirect" used for defining queue "bj2600_C129" which uses model script net_hp2600. Printing using command "lp" works.
As user "root":
cp -pR /etc/X11/C/print/models/HPDESKJET2500-PS HPBJ2600DN-PS
In file:
/etc/X11/C/print/models/HPBJ2600DN-PS/model-config
*descriptor: Hewlett-Packard InkJet 2600DN (Postscript)
*document-formats-supported: {POSTSCRIPT 3}
*dt-pdm-command: /usr/dt/bin/dtpdm
*input-trays-supported: hp-tray-1 hp-tray-2 manual
*plexes-supported: simplex duplex tumble
*printer-model: Hewlett-Packard InkJet 2600DN (Postscript)
*printer-resolutions-supported: 600 300 150 100 75
*xp-ddx-identifier: XP-POSTSCRIPT
*xp-listfonts-modes-supported: xp-list-internal-printer-fonts xp-list-glyph-fonts
*xp-embedded-formats-supported: {POSTSCRIPT 3}
*xp-raw-formats-supported: {POSTSCRIPT 3} {PCL 3}
*xp-setup-proviso: xp-setup-optional
In file: /etc/X11/C/print/attributes/printer
bj2600_C129.xp-model-identifier: HPBJ2600DN-PS
bj2600_C129.descriptor: InkJet2600 in room C129
bj2600_C129.input-trays-medium: {hp-tray-2 iso-a3} {hp-tray-1 iso-a4}
Stop/Start Xprint
dtpad->File->Print->Print Setup->More Printers
shows a list of printers and after selection of:
bj2600_C129@becad04:1 InkJet2600 in room C129
in "Setup" is shown:
Printed sides: "Simplex, Duplex, Tumble"
Page Size: "#10 Envelope, Executive, ISO A4, ISO Designated Long, Legal, Letter"
=> But no A3 !!!
Button "Loaded in Printer" isn"t selectable.
Tray is in grey, nothing is offered.
I would like to understand how TPS negotiates with printers and how to enable features for new printers.
