Re: Trail Glance Plus Software

The uninstall does not remove the datestamped license key... you will have to search for the key and remove it...

However, methinks it would be best to buy it... there are ways around this, but I am just too honest I guess!!!

Re: Trail Glance Plus Software

This product was updated to prevent the product being uninstalled and then re-installed to get around the trial license expiring. You will have to purchase the product, or re-install your system

I bet I know who is getting a surprise audit from HP. Just talk to the sales person, they can get legitimate extensions if thats what you need.

Re: Trail Glance Plus Software

This is funny, looks like HP removed the responce that showed how to extend the Glance trial period. Did he at least get points for answering the question right?

Re: Trail Glance Plus Software

Now HP will have to hide the files better since a few folks know where to look.

I had always wondered this myself, but since we have the full product, it did not concern me how the magic was done.

Please award points to all your answers, I looked and you are batting 3 out of 18.

Re: Trail Glance Plus Software

I'm not sure this method will work but just give it a try.
After uninstalling it, see a file in the directory, /var/opt/pref/gkey.
Is it there ?
If so, delete it and install the product again.
"gkey" is a file which has codes inside for Glance-plus license.
Never say "no" first.

Follow kim's advice, and if melwyn is right, you just might end up reinstalling your system !!!
I am sure that would happen if it were Microsoft, not too sure if HP is as tough.

Re: Trail Glance Plus Software

I can already surmise the next question to be posted by this author.

I don't want to pay for the product, so can anyone give me CD access codes so I can install a bunch of stuff?

Some questions just don't need to be answered.

Re: Trail Glance Plus Software

Hi:

This is disappointing to say the least. Shop-lifting drives up prices for the honest folks. How is this any different?

HP offers a free trial license. Use it and either buy the software or not.

Re: Trail Glance Plus Software

Drives up what prices, Glance has been paid for years ago and Hp updates it and keeps selling it. I wouldn't rip it off, but i don't have much sympathy for HP's side either.
