Trouble running Oracle Installer
Hi,
We are upgrading from Oracle 7.3 to Oracle 8.0.6. Everything goes fine until we select the product to install "Migration Utility: Oracle7 to Oracle8". Then we keep getting this message over and over again.
"NFS server qft157 not responding still trying"
"NFS server qft157 ok"
then finally it comes back to the software selection screen without installing the product. Has anyone faced this problem before???
Thanks so much for your time,
Sri

Re: Trouble running Oracle Installer
I did an Oracle install a month ago and got something similar. Are you using pfsd to mount the cdrom? If not, you probably should. Another options is to copy everything from the cdrom over to a temp directory and run the installer from there.

Re: Trouble running Oracle Installer
Hi,
Just stop the NFS server daemon before you commence installation and start it after the installation.
