Trouble with cifs
I've got hundrerd pc under w2k sp4 (and lot of patches), ans two cifs shares on a hp ux11.11 serveur with cifs A.01.11.
I've got erro log in syslog or smb user log like this :
[2004/05/19 15:52:04, 0] smbd/open.c:(1294)
open_directory: unable to stat name = DWG. Error was No such file or directory
Can anyone help me ?

/sbin/init.d/samba stop

My share exist. Before i have cifs A.01.08 and a lot of other trouble (all resoved with cifs except this one). The share is a unique directory with about 10 thousand autocad files.
I've got the trouble with all my w2k clients who needs this share (but not with the other).

How do the permissions on the dir DWG and its' parents look? Also, do you see the error for every connected client?

Change your
log level = 2
in smb.conf then restart samba...
That may give you some more information in /var/opt/samba/
BTW - log file = /var/opt/samba/log.%m
