Trouble with cifs

Hi,

I've got hundrerd pc under w2k sp4 (and lot of patches), ans two cifs shares on a hp ux11.11 serveur with cifs A.01.11.

I've got erro log in syslog or smb user log like this :

[2004/05/19 15:52:04, 0] smbd/open.c:(1294)
open_directory: unable to stat name = DWG. Error was No such file or directory

Can anyone help me ?

Re: Trouble with cifs

Sounds like you have a share in your smb.conf file that does not exist on you hp-9000 server. Please check it, make corrections and restart the server.

/sbin/init.d/samba stop
/sbin/init.d/samba start

Re: Trouble with cifs

Hi,

My share exist. Before i have cifs A.01.08 and a lot of other trouble (all resoved with cifs except this one). The share is a unique directory with about 10 thousand autocad files.

I've got the trouble with all my w2k clients who needs this share (but not with the other).

Re: Trouble with cifs

Hi,

How do the permissions on the dir DWG and its' parents look? Also, do you see the error for every connected client?

regards,

Darren.

Re: Trouble with cifs

Can you post your smb.conf file please.

Change your
log level = 2
in smb.conf then restart samba...

That may give you some more information in /var/opt/samba/

BTW - log file = /var/opt/samba/log.%m
