Trusted System Conversion and NIS

I've just converted my workstation running 11.00 to a Trusted System, and we are running NIS also.

Now I cannot log into the workstation directly with my logion id, tells me login is incorrect but I can log in as root and su to my id without any problem.

In the trusted mode is there something I have to do to have it look in NIS 1st for a login id before the /etc/passwd file ???

Thanks

Re: Trusted System Conversion and NIS

Hi,

A quick point: are you using NIS or NIS+? I believe only NIS+ is supported with trusted systems at 11.

regards,

Darren.
Calm down. It's only ones and zeros...

Right. The last time I worked on trusted system, it didn't support NIS.

Re: Trusted System Conversion and NIS

I guess I will change it back as we are running NIS and not NIS+, unless there is a way to get around it ???

Re: Trusted System Conversion and NIS

No, NIS (unlike NIS+) is absolutely not supported in Trusted mode.
If it ain't broke, I can fix that.
