Trusted System Incorrect Login Grace Period?

Our developers are having problems getting the password for a generic account right. They keep locking the account, but they aren't sure which process is doing it. After many failed attempts to get them to nail down the problem, they are requesting a timeframe in which the failed login tally is reset. I know it resets after a successful login, but is there a time in which it resets, if no more failed attemts are made?

I just want them to figure out what keeps locking it, and fix it, but it is a good question, that I'd like to know the answer to anyway.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi,
you can't "auto unlock" accounts, unless you write the code !

I would suggest a regular cron job that checks whether the account is locked and then unlocks it.
