Trusted System

Hi,

My question is how does the trusted system send messages through email?

If yes how can we configure the email addresses

Thanks in advance

Re: Trusted System

My answer is the same as with an untrusted system. Trusted or standard passwd configuration has nothing to do with mail configuration. You question is unclear at this point.
If it ain't broke, I can fix that.

Re: Trusted System

Hi

The email does not depend on the server being trusted or non-trusted mode.

Re: Trusted System

E-mail is sent and received with sendmail.

To configure e-mail you need to look at sendmail. Files that may need to be changed:

/etc/mail/sendmail.cf
/etc/mail/sendmail.cw
/etc/mail/aliases (don't forget 'newaliases' after modifying this file)
/etc/mail/mailcap
/etc/rc.config.d/mailservs

More specific recommendations cannot be made without knowing more about what you want to do and your environment.

Re: Trusted System

Hi All,

To be more specific, my query is, is it possible to automate the trusted systems to send failures reported in the log file or the log file (once it is full) to the specified email addresses.

Thanks
