Trying to cut and paste in reflection session

I was wondering if anyone has run into this problem. I bring up the dashboard text editor on an 11.0 hpux system and try to cut and paste within the editor. It will not work. I can bring up a 2nd text editor window of the same file and cut and paste from one to the other but not within the same window. Any ideas? Wondering if it is a bug. Thanks.

Alex, Upon reading that post I notice the authors last reply at the end. This is the same problem I am having.

Re: Trying to cut and paste in reflection session

I'd advise bouncing this past WRQ's tech support page ...
http://www.wrq.com/

sounds like a bug not sure whether Reflections or CDE ... suspect RX though ( I would say that) as I've not heard of any problems wrt hpux at 11.xx that fit the bill.

What version of Reflections ?

make sure you have the latest CDe patch installed also check the Reflections log file or conssider using the trace facility.

Re: Trying to cut and paste in reflection session

Reflection for HP, UNIX and Digital, and ReGIS Graphics
The following issues are resolved in Reflection for HP with NS/VT,
Reflection for UNIX and Digital, and Reflection for ReGIS graphics 8.0.2:

Reflection now honors the Windows Ctrl + X and Ctrl + C keypad
combinations so that pressing these keys causes a cut and paste
respectively only if text is highlighted. ..... maybe relevant ?

Alex, thanks for your help. I have a call in with WRQ. Hopefully, they won't say 'not our problem talk to HP'.

Re: Trying to cut and paste in reflection session

Gerry,

The trick is that the text to be copied and pasted must remain highlighted if you are trying to copy/paste text within the Reflections session. Copying from other applications into Reflections and from Reflections to other applications works normally.

Let me know if you get any response from WRQ since this is also a nusuance that I also deal with on a daily basis.

Re: Trying to cut and paste in reflection session

Hello all,

I checked the wrq webpage out a bit and this is what I found:

What's Fixed in 8.0.2?
***********************

Reflection now honors the Windows Ctrl + X and Ctrl + C keypad combinations so that pressing these keys causes a cut and paste respectively only if text is highlighted.

So that sounds like that will be the solution then

Re: Trying to cut and paste in reflection session

Actually, it's somewhat easy but a bit different than you may used to on a standard x station. Use the left mouse button to highlight text and then the right mouse button to bring up a menu to bring up the menu and then select 'copy'. Right click on the window where you want to paste it and the menu will reappear so that you ca do it.

The keyboard situation is some more work. It seems that they have changed it in 8.x, but if you have an earlier version you can map the keyboard combinations yourself (under 'configuration' -> 'keyboard map'). The procedure is a little more involved so I will refer you to the Reflections help screens rather than rewrite it here.
