trying to locate latest version of vxfs ?

Hello All,
I'm trying to locate the latest version of
vxfs? Currently we have "version 4". Is there a later version ?

The most current version is JFS 3.5 vxfs v4

On 11.11, vxfs version 4 is the most current, on 11.23 vxfs version 5 is the most

No, only updating to the most current OS release can get You the support for version 5 right now, probably even then You'll have to mkfs the filesystems.
HP-UX 11.23 Version September 2004 and newer will run on hp9000 servers.
But unless You really need 128GB (or whatever high it was) filesize there's no reason to hurry on this, rather wait for an VXFS3.6 release or something like that.
(I have no idea when or if something like that is in the pipe at hp.)

Careful on these version numbers... what fstyp reports is the file system disk layout version, NOT the version of the VxFS software.

So 11.23 actually runs v3.5 of VxFS but reports a disk layout of v5

The new release of VxFS v4.1 reports a disk layout of v6.

No, there is no patch for this. You rather need to install latest version of VxVM( Or the one which supports ver 5.0) software and then need to recreate the file systems.
