Tuning Java

Hi!
I've Java2 1.4 RTE installed.
executing this command:
jre cf vertina /tmp/zampo/vetrina.war
it takes a very long time... (6-7 minutes)
In my directory there are 11091 files and is 127 Mb large.
How can I optimize my system (kernel parameters or patch or...) to reduce this execution time?
This is my machine:
CPU = 8 x 550
O.S. = HP-UX B.11.11 U
Mem = 24 Gb
Model = N4000-55

HPjconfig provides kernel parameter recommendations tailored to your Java enterprise services (Web server, Application Server, etc.) and HP-UX hardware platform. It offers save and restore functions for easy distribution of tailored recommendations across your customer base.
HPjconfig is a pure Java Application that runs on the HP-UX SDK or JRE for the Java 2 Platform version 1.2.2 or later (for which HP-UX 11.00 or later is required).

All HP-UX 11i HP Integrity and HP 9000 PA-RISC systems are supported.
