Turning on system accounting

Hello

I've turned on system accounting using /usr/sbin/acct/startup, and it all works fine. I just need some help to ensure that it is started upon each reboot.
The only documentation I have for it talks about AIX and how to edit the /etc/rc file placing a line that says :
su - adm -c /usr/sbin/acct/statup

Please could anyone advise what I need to do?

I recall having Sxxx and Kxxx in /sbin/rcx.d and scripts in /sbin/init.d with another script in /etc/rc.config.d/ but I was wondering if there were any standards for system accounting i.e - can I not just change an existing file to '1' ??

Cheers

Russ

Re: Turning on system accounting

hi,

to turn on acct process at startup:

# vi /etc/rc.config.d/acct
START_ACCT=1

to turn it on manually
# /sbin/init.d/acct start
