UDP socket overflows

On a L2000 server I'm receiving traps from a device at a very high speed and I'm loosing a lot of them because of a large amount of udp socket overflows.

How do I resolve this problem? Which are the tunable parameters to configure (I've knowledge of "number of files per process" and "number of ports")?
