Ultrium 3 Tape Drive not detecting
Hi Thanks to all...
I am facing problem to instal HP Ultrium 3 tape drive on my rx3600 Server.(HP Storage Works Ultrium 920 internal SCSI,Model: EH841A,P/No. EH841-69201)
Server Model: hp server rx3600, OS: HP-UX 11.31
The Drive is not detecting by the System in ioscan. Checked the stape in Kernel Module is Static. The drive is connected to a PCI-X DUAL CHANNEL ULTRA320 SCSI ADAPTER. Checked and found EFI Driver & SCSI Firmware versions are latest. Tried with changing the PCI-X slot of the card. Installed the March 2008 HW Enablemet patch Bundle. Pls find the a
ttached outputs of SCSI Card details and ioscan.
Thanks in advance for your help....

Re: Ultrium 3 Tape Drive not detecting
Shalom Parmod,
Few things to try:
1) Make sure the SCSI address on the ultrium drive is not zero. That will conflict with the SCSI card, making it invisible.
2) See that the cables are connected properly and not damaged.
3) Do not use a SCSI terminator on the tape drive its self terminating and can be invisible if terminated.
4) Make sure the drive is not plugged into your smart card adaptec hardware raid card. The connector works but the card can't run the tape drive or make it visible to the system. You need a separate add in card for your ultrium.
