Unable to audit spefic folder in unix

hi, i have configured the audit in my unix but i having problem to set the audit to audit the specific folder only Eg: /var - i want to audit this folder only.I have used SMH and i cant find the option on it.Anyone have idea how to do it and do we able to do such audit filtering or not.Thanks
