Unable to Complete Ignite Backup

Hi,

I am unable to complete my Ignite backup and it seems to have stopped progressing already at this line:

NOTE: File: /var/tmp/tmp_cfg_file is not world-readable, this may cause clients to fail to read it during an installation.

What is causing this error? I have tried almost everything. Cleaned the drive, replaced the media and even replacing the drive.

Please advise.

Re: Unable to Complete Ignite Backup

Hi,
Check that your tape device can be accessed both reading and writting to /dev/rmt/4mn.

1. Run mt -t /dev/rmt/4mn
2. /dev/rmt/4mn status
3. try and tar a file to /dev/rmt/4mn
4. check syslog for any IO / LVM Errors

Possible reasons could be a failed tape, broken drive or just a bad disk.

Re: Unable to Complete Ignite Backup

Most of the problem I experienced was that bad media or dirty driver as far. So, first try to clean driver and try a new tape.
