unable to determine operating system version

i have problem when trying to startup cluster (#cmruncl) - the message comes out as follows

"unable to determine operating system version of node "

-can anyone explain to me a step to troubleshoot? and if you have any solution...

Hi ,
Please make sure that rlogin is working between all the nodes in the cluster.
Also check the existance of /etc/cmcluster/cmclnodelist.This file should have the entries of all nodes like given below,

nodename root
nodename root

can you post the output of uname -a and may have to check the netconf....

execute cmruncl -f
it tries to initiate cluster in any node .

Hi Faizirizal

Please check your rlogin (.rhost)between the nodes in your cluster.

Please check also your inetd. Check the identd line, sometime it has # in the begining of the line.
