Unable to get terminal prompt ($) on J6750 wks.

few user's are unable to get $ prompt after they login to CDE. The same problem persists even if they log in via telnet or rlogin from other machine. Other user dont face any problem on to the same machine.
I have tried clearing and purging the log files and re-creating user's home profile ex. .dt .profile , .dtprofile and other but no luck!

check the shell entry in /etc/passwd for that user.
Also check /var/adm/inetd.sec

User was using the machine from past 4 months. We have nod done any changes in NIS or local sysytem env.

maybe worth a try *if* affected uses have nfs mounted $HOME dirs ?
