unable to install WAS 6.0 ND as root

unable to install WAS 6.0 ND as root

have a server where I can not install WAS 6.0 ND as the root user. Can't even bring up the first splash screen to accept the agreement. Generates a 3GB core file.

If I call up the install with any other user, I can get to the agreement screen

Looking for ideas
