fsck -F vxfs -o full -y /dev/vgxx/lvolx
to fix it.

Did you go&try in single-user mode;
When press a key to discontinue appear on screen while rebooting. ( You have 10 sec time for this!)
Interact with IPL respond to "yes".
on ISL prompt type hpux -is

Hi,
Try full fsck. If further I/O errors are encounters you might beeven required to replace the disk. A full read test on the LVOL holding the var file system will clarify the disk reliability.
#dd if=/dev/vg00/rlvol?? of=/dev/null bs=1024k
Where rlvol?? is the /var LVOL.
