Unable to open GUI when I add nameserver entry in /etc/resolve.conf
I have HP-UXV11.31.I am able to browse Internet through Proxy when i given the "nameserver" entry in /etc/resolve.conf.
But i am unable to open a new Terminal with GUI Mode.
It says " Check to see that the desktop is properly installed and the hostname is correct(/etc/hosts) and that the network is properly configured."
I am able to login more than 2 GUI terminal when i remove the entry from /etc/resolve.conf.
Please help to resolve this issues

Re: Unable to open GUI when I add nameserver entry in /etc/resolve.conf
Do the /etc/hosts file have entry for your hostname? If not please add entry for your hostame in the correct syntax.
IPADDRESS FQDN hostname
Check your /etc/nsswitch.conf file. Can you copy the contends of this file here?
Thanks & Regards

If you;re using only "files" and not "dns" in
there, then why do you care what's in
"/etc/resolve.conf"?
