Unable to remove iCOD

Hi,

I'm unable to remove iCOD (B9073BA) which was installed as part of a ignite image on a rp3440 server. It throws below error:

"ERROR: iCOD is a required part of the core operating system and cannot be removed from your system since other operating system management tools depend on it."

I used the below command to preview the swremove which gave the above error:

swremove -x enforce_dependencies=false -p B9073BA

I guess iCOD is a licensed software and so we want to remove it from all unpartitionable servers.

Thanks and Regards,
Srividhya

Re: Unable to remove iCOD

I think the system is giving you the correct information here:

>> iCOD is a required part of the core operating system and cannot be removed from your system

So you can't uninstall it... I even have it installed in my little C3000 workstation! It's a core part of the OS - it just won't do anything on a non-iCAP (iCOD) capable server. Is there a problem with it staying on?

Re: Unable to remove iCOD

I see it on my 11.11 (workstation too) and 11.23 servers but not on 11.31.

Re: Unable to remove iCOD

Since iCod is a licensable product can I just leave it installed on all servers though it not being used on them?

We are looking forward an audit for HP licenses and so want to remove all the unused/unwanted licensed products from the servers ;)

Re: Unable to remove iCOD

It's part of the OS, see

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: Unable to remove iCOD

iCAP (iCOD) CPUs are purchase-able items. The software that manages them are not.

So you won't fail an audit just cos this software is installed.

Closing the thread as there is no need to remove iCOD software.
