Unable to run screen

I have two servers with a little bit different configuration , I try to run "screen -R -T vt220" in both server , one server have no any problem but another server have problem to read some character , I am not sure what difference is in both server , can advise if I want to make the server have the exactly the same setting ( eg. TERM , LANG etc ) when run screen , what can I do ? thx
