unattended install (over network) - i want to overwrite the HD

Hi!
I posted this message yesterday but for some reason it just dissapeared.

Anyway, I want to do an unattended install over the network, and I want that if I have an HD that already contains information it will be erased, without prompting me.

How can this be achieved?

10x,

2 ways I know of.

Best and foremost is using ignite on the same subnet as your server. Ignite can be used either as a push or pull server.

Other way is on the server to build is get to the boot prompt and enter bo lan.xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx install where the x's are the ip of another machine on the subnet. This will install the op system and a few other things, but not near as much as ignite would install.

Hello,

to configure ignite with no interaction, you can try this :
Setting run_ui = false and not setting control_from_server = true
should be done with extreme caution since the potential for
accidental re-installation of system is possible

See man 4 instl_adm for more details. Take care with these options !

Hope this helps,
