Unexpected files .nfs* under 11i
Hello,
I've just loaded HP-UX 11i (rel.06.2001) with Support Plus (rel.12.2001) on several 712 and C110 machines.
All of them have NFS mounted filesystems from my server C360 with HP-UX 10.20 loaded (with Networking ACE).
From this time there are created many unexpected ".nfs*" files on these filesystems which are not erased by system.
I tried to mount these filesystems using NFS version 2 or version 3, but results are the same.
The rest of my stations (715, C110, C180 and C360) are still running under HP-UX 10.20 without such problems, so I had to stop migrating to 11i.
I know that they should be erased automatically by the system at the end of I/O operations.
Previously (under 10.20) I had only several such files per year, but now there are over 40 per day !
I've loaded new system anly at client side, I didn't change the server OS.
Any help is very appreciated.
Marek

Re: Unexpected files .nfs* under 11i
Hi,
I guess you should investigate on server side for latest NFS patches.
Probably a timing issue between client and server.

The computer is a great invention, there are as many mistakes as ever, but they are nobody's fault !
