unix antivirus tools
Hello,
I am searching for infos regarding this topic for HPUX-11.00.
Is it recommended to install some code and if then on what kind of machines (smtp-gateways?)?
Could somebody help?

There have been a number of good threads on anti-virus software and UNIX (search the forums for anti-virus). In general, you do not need it for Unix itself, but you might want it if you are moving a lot of windows data through it (like if it is web server or something. McAffe has a virus protect for UNIX, and I imagine the other big ones will as well. However, if you are worries about viruses affecting it like an NT server, don't. It's not an issue.

YOu can use www.amavis.org together with almost any virus scanner to build a virus protected mail gateway.
There are faster solutions out there (like AVPDaemon with avpcheck.c), which only work (in this example) with Postfix as MTA and AVP as Scanner.

Postfix/BIND/Security/IDS/Scanner, you name it...
