update 7 for hpux 11iv3 on integrity

i have
Model:"ia64 hp server rx7620"
currently running hpux 11iv3.

i have dvd with update 7. I would like to know to how to update the update 7.

step by step is appreciated.

I would ask the following questions:

1) What update is currently installed?
2) Might the simpler path of installing the latest bi-annual patch set be a better course of action
3) The update page of the previously posted manual http://bizsupport.austin.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c02281370/c02281370.pdf involves using update-ux a process that many systems administrators do not trust.

Installing the quarterly update is a less risky way to make the OS stable and add in features provided by patch set.

To update

1.) install the Update UX package that will be in there in the depot , or else check if update-ux command is present ( if you have done an update before)

2.) use the command update-ux -s HPUX-11i-DC-OE (or any other operating environment u may choose )

this will install filesets and will reboot at the end and will show the new update level .
