Update B.11.11 With Dec 04 Update DVDs - Steps

HP-UX B.11.11

Planning to Update with Dec-04 updates.

Went thru Guides and all posts, it looks SCARY from the posts, bcos of update-ux failures and reco for COLD-INSTALL
Since I have 1 prodn Server, COLD INSTALL is ruled-out NOW.

Steps
1) Get Firmware, update from 39.46 To A.47.00 (Current)
2) update/Install new version of update-ux
3) I have /usr Free=492MB /opt Free=558MB /var Free= 741MB /stand Free=398MB
4) Make-tape-recovery
5) Install Patches Only or Update all

Q's
1) Has any body done updates with DEC-04 to their B.11.11
2) Any known problems
3) My Free space above is it enough
4) Is it OK Just to install Latest patch Bundles (HWEnable11i, GOLDPASS11i, GOLDAPPS11i)
5) Any known problems with DVD's (sent by HP)
6) Any Recos other than COLD Install
7) You think 1 day is enough.

I would simply apply all the patches and the latest GOLD and HWE patches - which should bring your 11.11 system to the same reve as the latest and greatest.

So no need to do an update-ux.

What do yoy mean by ALL Patches

By ALL patches - I mean patches that you may be missing that are included in the DEC2004 release. You can do a Custom Patch Anaylysis (CPM) if you've a support contract but simply applying the GOLD + HWE does cover all the needed critical patches.
