Hi, we will be shortly upgrading a machine to 11.00 32 bit from 10.20. We are gonna cold install & then restore from a vg00 backup. Can anyone give me a list (or link!) of files to EXCLUDE when performing the restore. Presumably /stand in it's entirity should be left out - vmunix, system etc!!
Thanks

Solution
Pete, it is so dangerous to copy stuff from 10.20 to 11.x, without knowing what it is. I'd suggest you frecover with the X option and place the recovered files into a subdirectory of root, allowing you to selectively copy things.
If you were to copy 10.20 libraries into 11.x you will be heading for disaster (Perfect Storm).
You are better to recover exactly the things you need and not more.
