upgrade 11.11 to 11.31

Dear All,

I am using 11.11 os on rp7420 and am planning to upgrade the os to 11.23 or 11.31. Which is the best method to upgrade from 11.11 to 11.23 or 11.11 to 11.31. As I read the documents it seems that we cant upgrade from 11.11 to 11.31 directlly. My questions are

1) If I am upgrading from 11.11 to 11.23 do I need to reconfiger the applications and their conigeration files oR it will be as it is

2) if I am upgrading first 11.11 to 11.23 then 11.23 to 11.31 , then do I need to reconfiger the applications and their conigeration oR as it is
will be as it is.

3) Suppose I m doing cold installation 11.11 to 11.31 then what about the DSF/agile path .

==> I upgrade a server rx2660 from HPUX 11.23->11.31 , so i use DRD Clone to make a clone for boot disk( it seem that DRD is not available for HPUX 11.11) so, i just upgrade using update-ux command no configuration needed. But if u are using third party application like Oracle it is recommanded to verify application compatibility.
There's the procedure to upgrade:

1) Stop the nfs
2) Break the mirroring if you have.
3) Install the update-ux command
4) Update the OS using the update-UX command
5) Remirror the volume.
