upgrade from 9.0x to 10.x or 11
Thanks for many suggestions from you guys but I still haven't found a proper way to upgrade 9.04 to a newer version for my HP-9000/712/60.
Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated!

Re: upgrade from 9.0x to 10.x or 11
I would take a good backup and do a fresh install. Boot of the cdrom and install it and then restore the data from the backups.
I would also think looking at the machine config 10.20/30 might be the best not 11 as it is a little more memory hungry..

Minimum effort maximum output!

If you are keen on data on your existing system this soulution might work
1.make one disk as free disk in system .
2.Note down the all vg's and their disk's and lvols and their mount points .
3.Install the OS to the disk which you freed up in 9.x
4.do vgimport on all vg's one by one to new vg's .
5.and mount the filesystems .
but most of your old applications wont work on 11
If you are not keen on data then Reinstalling is best way to go ahead.

Re: upgrade from 9.0x to 10.x or 11
There are two methods to get to 11.00: upgrade or cold install 11.00
Upgrade:
You can not upgrade directly from 9.04 to 11.00. You will need to upgrade to 10.x first then from 10.x to 11.00.
Cold Install:
First check if the machine is compatible with 11.00 and in 32 or 64 bit mode.

From this site you will have system requirements and upgrade or cold install documentation.
