Re: Upgrade HP-UX and ServiceGuard

Shalom Stefan,

There is a migration called upgrade-ux

It is not reliable and most will advise you not to use it.

You would be better off doing a cold fresh installation of 11.23, followed by Serviceguard 11.17

Re: Upgrade HP-UX and ServiceGuard

Refer to rolling software upgrades in appendix E:

Re: Upgrade HP-UX and ServiceGuard

Hey,
that what I want do to. Switch all to second node. Fresh install the first node, but then ...
Do I need to remove the first node from cluster and added after new installtion?
or
can I leave the first node in cluster and copy the cluster configuration?
or
build a new Cluster out the old Cluster configuration?

Any other way???

Appendix E says upgrade, but i don't want to upgrade my OS - new fresh installtion.

Re: Upgrade HP-UX and ServiceGuard

If yopu cold install one node, first remove it from the existing cluster configuration.
AFter you have reinstalled it ( and patched it), create a new cluster single node cluster, prepare all your storage and package information.
Halt the exisiting cluster, startup your new cluster and test your packages now start.
Then reinstall the second node, and add it into the new cluster.

Make sure you have VERY good backups firts, use Ignite to create make_recovery images!
