Upgrade HPUX OS

Is it possible to upgrade the Oracle from 7.3.4. to 8.1.2 without upgrading the HP OS from HPUX B.10.20 to HPUX B.11.00 ? What is the implication if we only upgrade Oracle without upgrading the OS ?

Hi,

if I recall correctly the only Oracle 8.0 is (hmmm WAS) supported on HP-UX 10.20. For Oracle 8i you'll require HP-UX 11.x.

And why 8.1.2 ? How about at least 8.1.7?

All unix flavours are exactly the same . . . . . . . . . . for end users anyway.

hi,

Oracle no longer support 8.1.2 but from 8.1.5 to 8.1.7 (or 8i). Also, 8i support OS of HPUX 11.0 onwards and not 10.20.

check Oracle Metalink for more info.
