Upgrade IDS9000 to 2.1
Hi,
I was asked to upgrade IDS9000 from 2.0 to 2.1.
Should I remove 2.0 using swremove and then install 2.1 ?
Thanks in advance,
YC

Re: Upgrade IDS9000 to 2.1
Hi Leong,
I recently upgraded IDS/9000 from 2.0 to 2.1 on a B1000 running HP-UX 11.00, and had no problems. I did not have to remove 2.0 first. Here's a couple helpful links:
Admin Guide:
http://docs.hp.com/hpux/onlinedocs/J5083-90007/J5083-90007.html
2.1 Release Notes:
http://docs.hp.com/hpux/onlinedocs/J5083-90008/J5083-90008.html
As with any sort of upgrade, make sure you have a backup first, just in case something goes wrong. If nothing else, make sure you back up the IDS stuff under /opt/ids, /var/opt/ids, and /etc/opt/ids.

Bruce Laughlin
