Upgrade question

I am doing an analysis on my systems like what products need to be upgraded and on what products we are lagging. I'll give you an example in this regard:

Lets say we talk about rp7420 server running hpux ver 11.11. Lets for example, we talk about MC/ServiceGuard NFS Tool. The current version of it on the server is A.11.11.03. How can I find that whats the latest version of this product available for hpux 11.11 running on rp7420 is available. One more example, the version of ServiceGuard running on this server is A.11.16.00, what is the latest supported version is available for this release of OS.

THese are just examples, actually I need to do the whole analysis of the installed products on various servers.
MC/Service Guard

Can some one give me some guidance in this regard?

Re: Upgrade question

You should have a look at software assistant:

Hope this helps!

Re: Upgrade question

Hi:

# swlist |grep -i swa

...will show you if the Software Assistant has been installed.

However, aside from patch analysis, including those for security that lead recommendations for product upgrades (like Java, FireFox), I don't beleive that SWA answers your question.

Instead, you might browse the Software Depot:

http://h20392.www2.hp.com/portal/swdepot/index.do

...and periodically use newer Operating Environment media and/or Application media from the Support Update Manager (SUM at the ITRC) to fetch the latest products you have installed.
