Re: Upgrade to 11.0 error message
I don't there are many of us that would recommend anyone doing an upgrade from 10.20 to 11x. The upgrade from 10.20 to 11x, will attempt to remove some software, and if you don't have an extremely well kept machine, it will most likely fail. Actually it will most likely fail 80% of the time.
I would recommend doing a cold install of 11x, which mean you will have to restall and restore any nonstandard-os related products.
Honestly, I don't even know why HP even allows it, because it usually causes more headaches than its worth.
good luck :-)

Re: Upgrade to 11.0 error message
Hi,
A cold install of HP-UX 11 and then
an import of your remaining logical volumes
is far easier and less messy. I've attempted
to do this upgrade about 20 times each time
failing with a different problem that could
not be fixed. You will find that your
existing 32 bit appplications will run fine.
There are many postings about this very issue.

Re: Upgrade to 11.0 error message
Hi Penni,
Given, even a remote chance i'll never go for an upgrade of 10.x to 11.0. It is more heartache then relief. More than that you are required to carry some extra baggage which doesn't help anyone. I'll always prefer to do a clean install and will advise the same. Even a working 11.0 box if i have to reconfigure, i prefer reinstalling the OS again, to put everything clean on the box.
Here is a thread which somehow looks into the same sort of problem you are facing. May be of some help to you. Give it a try.

Hope this helps.
thanks
