Upgrade to 11i
Is there any way to utilize vg00-mirror so as to upgrade to 11i on primary ( or mirror) vg00 while the mirror (or primary) contains image of 11.00. The plan is immediate switchback to 11.00 if the upgrade to 11i fails
Thanks in Advance

Re: Upgrade to 11i
You might want to look at this thread, though it talks about migrating a 10.20 to 11.00, the idea would still be the same. But do make sure you have a good back up and do a make_recovery of the system before you do this.

Re: Upgrade to 11i
Before starting, make sure you do a "make_recovery -A" to create a recoverable tape.
You can break your mirror, then shut the system down. Then perform the loading of 11i ONLY on your mirrored copy (the mirrored disk) and not on the original root disk, because you do not want to disrupt your current 11 swap area.

Re: Upgrade to 11i
Since you are already mirrored, break the mirror and use the freed disk as your cold-install target. If you are not comfortable with the resulting installation, change your boot path back to the "old" operating system on the "other" disk and resume production.
