Upgradin aCC++ compiler from 5.50 to 5.55 on Intanium HP-UX 11i

Hi,

I am facing problem while upgrading the aCC++ compiler for Itanium HP-UX 11i from Version 5.50 to Version 5.56. As per the HP doumentation I appiled the patch
PHSS_29655 1.0 aC++ Compiler (A.05.52)
& upgraded the compiler to aCC++ 5.52; but how to upgarde it to aCC++ 5.55 ; the HP documentaion ask to install the patch
"PHSS_29659 1.0 aC++ Runtime (A.05.55)"
but it doesn't upgrade it to version aCC++5.55.

Can any one tell me how to do this upgrade.
Some body told me to install package
B3911DB C.05.55 HP aC++ Compiler (S700)
B3913DB C.05.55 HP aC++ Compiler (S800)

But I don't know from where to download these packages.

Latest version of aCC for 11.23 is A.05.57. It is available as a patch PHSS_30847, but first you must install base release, which is A.05.55. Base release can be installed from the latest application CD.

aCC runtime patch is used to update C++ libraries in /usr/lib to the required version.

Can I able to upgarde from this version to aCC++5.55.

Yes, you can upgrade to 5.55. You don't need to uninstall your current release. When you install 5.55, 5.50 will be automatically removed and new release installed instead. 5.55 is not available as a patch; it must be installed off application CD.

Hi,

you can't upgrade your A.05.50 to A.05.55 via patch. You must have a complete new release available on Application DVD May 2004 and newer. A.05.55 is a complete release and can be installed over any prior HP-UX 11i v2 (B.11.23) release of HP aC++.
After installation of A.05.55 you can upgrade it to version A.05.57 via patch PHSS_30847
