I am using HPUX 10.20 running bind 4.9.7
I need to be able to forward queries for a particular domain to an different dns server. The "forward zones" feature seems to be exactly what i need but this is only introduced in bind version 8.2 onwards.
Can someone advise me on where to look for concise documentation on the process of upgrading 4.9.7 to 8.2 or higher, or should I be considering a different approach.

Re: Upgrading bind version
Hi Dermot,
4.9.7 is the last supported release for 10.20. You can try your luck at downloading the source code from http://bind.com and see if you can get it to compile and run on 10.20, but you won't be supported by HP.
I'd suggest updating your system to 11i and then you can download the Bind 9.2 code for free from http://software.hp.com.
Regards,
Dave

Re: Upgrading bind version
I knew it would not be simple, and that our lack of funding would catch up eventually.
Thanks anyway.
Dermot.
