Re: upgrading from 10.20 to 11.0

Hi,

The best advice given many times in this forum is to not upgrade, but cold install 11.00.

Use search to find this answers.

Re: upgrading from 10.20 to 11.0

Thank you all for your responses.
I still have a question, is it possible to run two operating system in one machine? For instance in our case where we are running 10.20 and want to run 11.0 in parallel.

Re: upgrading from 10.20 to 11.0

You can NOT run 10.20 and 11 on the same machine AT THE SAME TIME. You can have a DUAL-BOOT, or MULTI-BOOT, but you CAN NOT run multiple OS's at one time.

BUT, with hard/virtual partitions it will be possible, to run 11.11 and say 11.30.

10.20 is obsolete and dies June 2003.

Re: upgrading from 10.20 to 11.0

You should not upgrade from 10.20 to 11.00 but instead just cold load your 11.00 copy on the system.

Also it is not possible to run two copies of the O/S on the system.
