I have a box that is out of town running 10.20 and I need to upgrade it to 11.0
I mount the HP-UX 11.00 Core OS cd on a local machine and export the FS. I mount the exported FS on the local /cdrom mount point.
I run swinstall and tell it to look at that location and I get back a message that:
"Currently there are no products on this source which are compatible with the target. Therefore, no products are shown."
Any whacks from the clue-stick that anyone can give me?
Thanks.

Re: Upgrading from 10.20 to 11.00
By the way, I've also tried following the directions to get the current SW-TOOLS, but when I go to read the /cdrom/catalog directory, I get a "catalog not found" message.

Rob:
You should load the software codewords you need on the target server before you start.

SolutionFirstly, do you know that upgrading from 10.20 to 11 is risky and simply might not work? so you should make an ignite backup of 10.20 first for disaster recovery purposes or be prepared to install cleanly to 11 and reload your data. The few times ive tried upgrading to 11 none have worked, had to install from square 1 to 11. Now, why does SD say no compatible products found ? it can see the CD but is having trouble determining whats on it. Is your remote server capable of running 11 ? 32bit or 64? Some servers will need a firmware upgrade before you can run 11, this may be your problem. eg. we had to upgrade a K460's firmware before installing to 11.
Im from Palmerston North, New Zealand, but somehow ended up in London...
