upgrading from 11.11 to 11.23

Hi,

I have three queries when we are upgrading from 11.11 to 11.23.

A. To I need to reinstall the Mirror/UX and Online JFS Again.

B. Do I need to get a new codeword for the OnlineJFS and Mirror UX

C. If there is already a Mirrored vg, would they be able to do a vgsync after upgrade.

A. It depends. Which HP-UX operating environment are you going to install? If it is the Foundation OE (FOE), then yes you would need to install Mirror/UX and Online JFS since those are not part of FOE. If it is Enterprise OE (EOE) or Mission Critical OE (MCOE), then no you don't need to reinstall those 2 packages as they are included as part of those OE's.

B. If FOE, then yes. If EOE or MCOE, then no.

C. That should be possible, yes.

A. Abandon the upgrade plan. upgrade-ux succeeds less than half the time in practice. Cold install followed by reinstalling Mirror/UX and OnlineJFS depending on which media you use.

B. Yes

C. My plan has you starting over.
