Upgrading Ignite-ux version
Hy m8s
I have to update my ignite version, and i have a doubt when you install the new ignite server version is it posible if you have any problems to go backwards to the old install?.
Or if something goes wrong you have to uninstall the new version and install the old one?
Another doubt is, does it keep all the config files and the clients when you upgrade or downgrade or al the config files are ok?
I have never upgraded a ignite-ux server
Thnx for You HELP!!!

Re: Upgrading Ignite-ux version
Shalom,
If you have done any custom configuration, back up the configuration files, especially the INDEX file.
swremove the old version of Ignite.
swinstall the new version.
If you don't remove the old, the new will not work right.

Re: Upgrading Ignite-ux version
Hi -
Please copy your INDEX file and any customization you might have in your current ignite server. After this you do this
#instl_adm -d > /var/ignite.def
Now swremove the old ignite version
#swinstall -s /depot/new_ignite \*
#instl_adm -f /var/ignite.def
#instl_adm -d ( and see if your default is in place)
#ignite & ( install a new client and see if it is working.
Make sure you have the latest patch on your ignite server if you put in the newer version of ignite.
Let me know if you have any problem.
regards
Pratyush
