UPS_CONF

I am attempting to confingure the ups deamon to shut down after a certain time... however, i am unsure which variable controls which procedure. Delay or Timeout?!!

I'd ideally like to shutdown after an hour and a half without power?

Re: UPS_CONF

shutdown_delay_mins is the actual delay initiated from the loss of AC power to begin the shutdown.

A man ups_conf will tell you all of this. I must say that being able to set shutdown_delay_mins to 90 will require a very lightly loaded UPS or huge battery packs.
If it ain't broke, I can fix that.

Re: UPS_CONF

One other thing to consider is that even if your UPS will handle the load for 90+ minutes is that without power to HVAC systems will temperatures rise to dangerous levels?

Re: UPS_CONF

we have battery power for up to 2 hours, so that is not an issue. The maximum allowed in both timeout and delay is 15 mins though?

surly 30mins isn't the maximum allowed time on battery?

Re: UPS_CONF

Hi,

Your ups may be able to cope with that length of battery time, but what happens if the power drops out for a 2nd time? I believe that's why the "traditional" values have been to supply power for 15 mins.

There is a patch however for ups_mond that increases the max value to 1092 mins. The patch is PHCO_29054 (11.0), PHCO_27828 (11i) and I strongly urge you to read the patch text first as it discusses ups types that this applies to.

Darren.
