urgent help with libc.1
I have "/usr/lib/dld.sl: Call to mmap() failed - TEXT /usr/lib/libc.1
/usr/lib/dld.sl: Permission denied
Abort(coredump)" message on console and telnet terminal. I can't change back to 555 mode.
Please help with how to do.
Console can not login.
How to shutdown to 1?
Steven

Re: urgent help with libc.1
"..You took away the permission to read the library, so no shared program (as chmod is) will work.
You need to boot from support-cd or connect the filesystem to another system and restore the permissions (chmod 555)...."
Hope this helps,
Rita

Re: urgent help with libc.1
At this point, all you can do is power off and reboot single-user. Then /sbin/mount /usr;
/sbin/chmod 555 libc.1; /sbin/umount /usr
Good luck, Clay

Re: urgent help with libc.1
shutdown -ry 0 (for immediate reboot !)
At console prompt for interrupt HIT ANY KEY !!
boot_adm>search to find the hardware path of CD
boot_adm> bo
Interact w/isl> yes
ISL> hpux -is
.....you are now in single user mode with only / root mounted. To mount other filesystem you must use mount command.
Hope this helps,
/rcw
