urgent: how to recover the old device files back

I removed HBA from XP, and re-added back, but, all devices files got changed to different name. How do I recover these old deivices back.

Please help!

I don't think you will be able to get the old devices names.

In fact /stand/ioconfig defines the new instances. There are ways to renumber, but it is a little tricky and you should contact HP support for help on that
