URGENT: Need to setup HPUX printer queue to print to raw port on jetdirect with dot matrix printer

I have an Okidata dot matrix printer connected to a Jetdirect print server and I need to create a queue on HPUX to print to the raw port on the Jetdirect.

I am drawing a blank on how to accomplish this task.

It's not very difficult. I would use the dumb printer interface then edit it to make sure that no escape sequences are sent. Finally, look for where hpnpf is finally called and make sure that -N and -n are NOT set. Man hpnpf for details.

I typically modify this so that the normal mode is text and thus -n and -N hpnpf options are used unless the lp job is invoked w -o binary.

Ok, I selected dumbplot for printer and now where do I find the driver file. I am not good with printing.

The model interface file is in /opt/hpnpl/sh and is "dumbplot_printer". The easiest method is to simply use hppi to remove the printer and then add it back with the desired interface file.

All of the working interface files are in /var/spool/lp/interface. The may also be an interface file invoked by the main interface file. These files are found in a directory called "model.orig" below /var/spool/lp/interface.
