Dennis means that USB support in HP-UX is for specific devices only - i.e.:


Mice
Keyboards
DVDs (and virtual DVDs via vMedia on some systems)
A _very_ small numner of HP branded memory sticks

USB printers are _not_ supported. My advice would be to attach to a windoes/linux system and access over the network...

The answer to your question. I was telling you what USB devices are supported and printers aren't on the list.

The answer is "no, HP-UX does not support any USB printers at all".

Originally HP implemented only keyboard and mouse support for USB in HP-UX. And only HP workstation hardware was tested with it, so there is no guarantee that some random USB mouse will work with HP-UX.

USB CDROM/DVD support was implemented because the only ways to install an OS to a basic blade server are either a network installation or a local USB media.
