User license

Hello,
I have some c-class 9000/785/C3600 model.
I got some details that these servers are two user license.
What do you mean by two user license?
Please explain me.

Thanks.

Re: User license

It's the way in which the users access the box.

1) Console - 1 license
2) Telnet - 1 license (any number of users can do telnet to this box but is counted as only one license)

Now it will not allow you to login through serial port or a modem port if you already logged on console and through telnet.

HP is giving away unlimited user licenses. You get it from this website

Re: User license

Hi TG,

Two users license, is two concurrent users simultanously loggin to the system.

You can defined whatever number of users within your system ( there is no corrolation between users number license and entries in /etc/passwd, but concurrent users wouldn't exceed two ( unless they are telent sessions ).

As said by Sridhar, all telnet session will count for 1 license.

Re: User license

hi,

this allows maximum two concurrent USER! logins. Root logins or client/server connections are however not limited!

regards,
Thierry.
All unix flavours are exactly the same . . . . . . . . . . for end users anyway.
