User login hangs on HP Cluster

Hi
I have a problem on one of the two servers in our Serviceguard cluster(hp-ux 11).
We found today that users were unable to log in, after the password was entered it hung awaiting the prompt. I found that if I changed the name of a users home directory in the password file to a name different than the userename that user could login. Also the /users directory is mounted on both servers and it works fine on one and not the other. The Server with the problem was rebooted before the problems was noticed and seemed to be OK after the reboot. I hope this makes sense as I am completly baffled. Any help would be great.
Thanks in advance
Tom

Re: User login hangs on HP Cluster

Shalom,

Make sure the HISTFILE is not on NFS. That won't work with HP-UX

This could also be an NFS server rebooting.

Re: User login hangs on HP Cluster

It seems you are exporting /users as user home directory as NFS to other node. Make sure that you don't have any NFS hung sessions.

Thanks for the response, how do I check if there are any hung NFS sessions?
