Using check_recovery to automate make_recovery
Is there anyone who has used the check_recovery
utility in a shell script to make a comparison
between what is currently on your system and
what was last backed up to tape with make_recovery?
I want to put a DAT tape in a drive, and run a
script that will run check_recovery, and only create a make_recovery tape if a bundle, product, or fileset has changed.
thanks,

Re: Using check_recovery to automate make_recovery
I would run a make_recovery on a regular schedule. I heard from HP at one point that they were looking at phasing out the check_recovery function of Ignite/UX. Using the '-C' option to make_recovery drastically slows you down.
I personally run make_recovery every Sunday. I have my backup package installed on vg00 so when I run the make_recovery I get all my backup indexes. If you have anything like that installed on vg00, do a regular make_recovery.
